Launch event: RESIST

This is a joint launch event with Cybercampus in Stockholm, that puts the spotlight on cyber-resilient AI and RESIST, a national research center focused on advancing cyber-resilient AI through collaboration between academia, industry and the public sector. It is aimed at actors from industry, the public sector and academia. RESIST will present what the center offers, and how its activities help address real needs across sectors.

Through keynotes, shared perspectives and dialogue, this event will focus on the practical role and potential of RESIST’s activities. Participants will gain insight into how RESIST supports competence development, education and training, provides policy and strategy advice and coordinates collaboration with relevant research environments, industry, and public sector organisations.

Keynote speakers

Mario Fritz

Prof. Dr. Mario Fritz is a computer scientist and expert in trustworthy and secure AI as well as cybersecurity. Having held positions at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, UC Berkeley, Saarland University, and the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security, he actively contributes to shaping European AI research.

With more than 100 publications at leading conferences, his leadership of the European Network of Excellence ELSA on secure and safe AI, and his appointment to the EU AI Scientific Panel, he combines research excellence with social responsibility.

Mattias Gröndahl

Mattias Gröndahl is the Head of Red Team & Vulnerability Research at Cparta Cyber Defense, with 15+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including the last 10 years specializing in offensive security testing. He has worked across a wide range of industries in Sweden and internationally, with expertise in penetration testing, adversary simulation, and advanced red teaming exercises.

His career has given him a front-row view of how modern attackers exploit emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, to enhance cyberattacks. Mattias brings practical, field-tested insights into the risks, detection challenges, and defensive strategies surrounding AI-driven attacks.

Pontus Johnson

Pontus Johnson is a professor of cybersecurity at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. His research covers offensive cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and the analysis of computer networks.

He leads the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences’ working group on AI-driven cyber threats, which published its first interim report in June this year.

Otto Elmgart

Otto Elmgart serves as Head of Unit at the Swedish National Cyber Security Centre at FRA. He has extensive experience in the fields of hybrid threats and cyber security, gained both in Sweden and abroad.

He holds a Master of Science in Engineering Physics as well as a Licentiate degree in Financial Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics.
